AJ Styles vs Ricochet- Light Heavyweight Title #1 Contender's Match

We opened NXT with a #1 Contender's Match for the Light Heavyweight Title, as AJ Styles faced Ricochet. The two have very exciting moves, and put on quite a show, with near fall after near fall. Styles came close to winning it a few times, and Ricochet connected on a very impressive 450 Splash that wasn't enough. The power of Styles would prove the difference, as he slammed Ricochet to the mat before hitting the Styles Clash for the 3 count.

Winner: AJ Styles

Pentagon Jr(c) vs Bo Dallas- NXT Television Title Match

Bo Dallas was the next challenger for the NXT TV Title, and The Inspirational One showed a lot of fight against the undefeated champion. Bo showed a very vicious side with the title on the line, and appeared to even have the champ reeling a few times. Pentagon hit a very impressive moonsault to the outside, then rolled Bo back into the ring and connected with the Fear Factor, which Bo actually kicked out of. The upset wasn't to be, however, as another Fear Factor put the match away.

Winner and still NXT TV Champion: Pentagon Jr

Charlotte vs Asuka

Two of NXT's finest female wrestlers squared off as Charlotte and Asuka went head to head. Both got early near falls, Charlotte off a Spear and Asuka off a running hip attack. Charlotte locked in a Figure 4, but Asuka fought her way out of it. Asuka locked in the Asuka Lock, but Charlotte countered into another Figure 4, which Asuka survived again. Charlotte finally finished Asuka off with a single leg Boston Crab.

Winner: Charlotte

Balor Club vs American Alpha- NXT Tag Team Titles #1 Contender's Match

Both of these teams were eager for a victory, with a chance at the tag titles on the line. Anderson and Gallows used their strength advantage early on, working over Gable, the smaller man. Once Jordan was tagged in, the match changed. American Alpha dominated the match from then on, keeping Anderson out of the ring and exploiting Gallow's weaknesses. Jordan connected with a Jordan Slam, Gable distracted Anderson and that was enough for victory. After the match, an obviously off-kilter Balor Club began arguing with each other, each blaming the other for their recent stuggles. Balor himself entered to keep the argument from getting physical, Sami entered as well and the main event started.

Winners: American Alpha

Finn Balor vs Sami Zayn- Winner picks the stipulation of their title match

Balor and Zayn brawled from the very start, understanding the importance of picking the stipulation in their title match. Neither man could hit his big maneuvers, but Sami did connect on his Torpedo DDT, although that didn't help him win the match. They went to the outside of the ring, where Finn brought the crowd to it's feet, planting Sami and hitting a Coup de Grace off the top rope to the floor. Sami reversed the momentum and looked to end it with a Koji Clutch, but Finn countered, and hit another Coup de Grace, this time inside the ring. Finn was astonished when Sami plucked his shoulder off the mat at a count of 2. Finn continued to dominate the match, but Sami kicked out time and time again, frustrating the champion. Sami started a brief comeback, but was too exhausted, and couldn't really damage Finn. Balor finally put Sami away with a third Coup de Grace, earning the right to pick the stipulation. He immediately announced that it would be a Falls Count Anywhere match to settle the score.

Winner: Finn Balor

NXT GM William Regal announced that the first NXT pay-per-view would take place on Wednesday, June 8th, and would be entitled NXT Arrival, main evented by Finn Balor vs Sami Zayn III. The other announced match sees Bayley challenge Paige for the Women's Title. Stay tuned for that, on June 8th.

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

Winners: The Revival Rich Swann vs Drew Gulak- Cruiserweight Classic Group B Match This was the classic match up between high flying and technical brilliance, and it was Gulak's slower style that controlled this match.
