Henry's Universe Mode(Season 5): Wrapping Up 2019

We've got three pay-per-views to cover today, so I'm going to keep these summaries pretty brief, while still adding some style to make sure it doesn't get too monotonous. We start with NXT's final Takeover of the year, live from the "Harbor City". NXT Takeover: Sydney November 10th, 2019 - The show opened with Moustache Mountain defending their NXT Tag Team Championships against TM-61 . Nick Miller and Shane Thorne had declared that this would be their final match if they lost, and they put forth a tremendous effort in front of their friends and family. But in the end, the British strong style of Tyler Bate and Trent Seven won out, allowing them to retain their titles. Afterward, Thorne beatdown a recovering Miller and declared that he was here to stay in NXT.  - Up next, Rhea Ripley successfully defended her NXT Women's Championship against Candice LeRae , who got this opportunity after defeating Sonya Deville in Seattle. Blog Update- Looking Forward to 2020

Been a while since I posted a blog update, looks like the last one was in July. I've been busy, as I always am at this time of the year, with all the Dog League content, and I thought that went extremely well. Certainly, Dog League posts are going absolutely nowhere, and will continue to be a staple of the September-December months of my blog next year. This year, though, I tried to keep Henry's Universe Mode running at the same time, sticking to just monthly pay-per-views. That went fine at first, but the issue was that I wasn't playing 2k19 in my spare time, so when I sat down to make the posts for November, it felt like I was entering an entirely foreign world. My desire to post any more content was shot, so I just didn't try, and shifted completely to the Dog League instead. But as that content has wound down, I've thought more and more about getting my Universe Mode back going again, and it was something I was very excited about. There were two main issues.

The Dog League: Week 16 Review(2019 Season)

It's the final week of the year, with three games left to go. Who will become champion, and who will increase their stock for next season? (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Fifth Place Game: #5 Ridiculous Rascals vs #6 Bark Force The two worst teams in the league put on a game fitting of it, as these two would end up being the lowest scoring teams in the Dog League's final week. Bark Force looked absolutely dreadful early on, with D.J. Moore(1.1 points) and Tyler Lockett(2.2 points) held completely in check. Rascal lost James Conner(3.2 points) early, but recovered well, as Julio Jones(26.6 points) led the way, held up well by solid games from Ezekiel Elliott(15.4 points) and Terry McLaurin(15.6 points). In the end, Patrick Mahomes(25.44 points) and Aaron Jones(28 points) at least made it look respectable, but they were the only Bark Force players to reach double digit scoring in an embarrassing defeat. Rascal will now receiv

The Dog League: Week 16 Preview(2019 Playoffs)

We have reached the last stand, the final game of the fourth season in Dog League history. All six teams now make their final moves of this year, but do need to keep in mind that every player on their roster will be returning next year. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Bark Force (#6 Seed, Fifth Place Game) Bark Force makes a couple of moves for the future, dropping veterans A.J. Green and Greg Olsen to pick up D.J. Chark and Evan Engram. Although both players are dealing with injuries and pretty much incapable of being started, both will offer some upside for the team next year. Meanwhile, they also drop the Bills defense to stream the Seahawks, and move Tyler Lockett back into the starting lineup over Todd Gurley. Week 16 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Patrick Mahomes RB Aaron Jones RB Nick Chubb WR DeAndre Hopkins WR D.J. Moore TE Hunter Henry WR Tyler Lockett K Justin Tucker DEF Seattle Seahawks Ridic

The Dog League: Week 15 Review(2019 Playoffs)

With the final two spots on the line, who would advance to fight for the Dog League's fourth championship? (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) First Round: #1 Rare Woofs vs #4 Tailwaggerz This seemed like it would be a routine win for Rare Woofs, and it certainly looked that way early on. Jameis Winston(32.72 points), Christian McCaffrey(37.5 points), Davante Adams(23.3 points) and Travis Kelce(25.2 points) lit up the scoreboard early and often, as the league's best team were in complete control. Solid days from Chris Carson(26.7 points) and Tyreek Hill(23.8 points) gave Tailwaggerz a lifeline, but they would need a miracle to stay in the game. Fortunately for the defending champions, they got two, as Julian Edelman(2.9 points) and Dalvin Cook(7.3 points) both dealt with injuries, leaving them nowhere near as effective as normal. The door was open, but would eventually be slammed shut, as Emmanuel Sanders(2.9 points) was totall

The Dog League: Week 15 Preview(2019 Playoffs)

The Dog League Playoffs begin, as another chapter in the Tailwaggerz-Rare Woofs rivalry prepares to be written while Leaping Girl looks for revenge against Tug of War. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Bark Force (#6 Seed) With no game this week, Bark Force were restricted to only making injury substitutions. A.J. Green is their only significantly injured player, but they are stashing him for next season, so no moves were made. Ridiculous Rascals (#5 Seed) With no game this week, Ridiculous Rascals were restricted to only making injury substitutions. Calvin Ridley has been placed on IR, so Rascal was allowed to replace him, however he could not find a Falcons receiver he wanted, so no moves were made. Tailwaggerz (#4 Seed) With a banged up team, Tailwaggerz made quite a few high profile moves. They dropped T.Y. Hilton to bring in Emmanuel Sanders, who immediately gets a starting job. They also dropped Derrius Guice to

The Dog League: Week 14 Review(2019 Season)

Tug of War and Rascal compete for a playoff spot while Bark Force finally puts together a great effort in the final week of the regular season. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Leaping Girl vs Rare Woofs We start out with the most meaningless game, as first place Rare Woofs faced second place Leaping Girl with the regular season title already decided. Both teams rotated players, and it was the decision to start Kyle Rudolph(3.1 points), as well as early injuries to Mike Evans(13.1 points) and DeVante Parker(4.8 points) that cost Emma. Austin Ekeler(31.3 points) got her back in it, but Rare Woofs leading scorer Christian McCaffrey(24.5 points) and spot starters Kenny Golladay(17.8 points) and Devonta Freeman(19.4 points) led the way to victory. Carson Wentz(19.9 points) finished it off on Monday night, as Rare Woofs claimed their twelfth win of the year, heading into the playoffs with all the momentum in the world. Final: L

The Dog League: Week 14 Preview(2019 Season)

Week 14 will be a quietest one of the season in terms of meaningful games, with three playoff spots and the regular season title already clinched. But for Tug of War and Rascal, this is the biggest week of the year, and a chance for the other four teams to prepare for their playoff clashes. Bark Force Current Record: (3-10, 6th place) Now with the worst record in league history, Bark Force really has nowhere to go but up. They bring in James White for Ronald Jones on the bench, and return Todd Gurley to the starting lineup as he replaces Tyler Lockett, who is coming off a catchless performance against the Vikings. They also continue to hang onto A.J. Green, which is looking more and more like a stash play for next season then any sort of help for this year. Week 14 Starting Lineup(vs Tailwaggerz) QB Patrick Mahomes RB Aaron Jones RB Nick Chubb WR DeAndre Hopkins WR D.J. Moore TE Hunter Henry RB Todd Gurley K Justin Tucker DEF Los Angeles Rams Ridiculous Rascal

The Dog League: Week 13 Review(2019 Season)

Rare Woofs turns on the heat in Week 13 as they close in on their first regular season title. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War vs Rare Woofs Tug of War rolled into this game on a four game winning streak, but Thanksgiving Day games immediately gave them issues, as Michael Thomas(10.8 points) and the Bears defense(5 points) massively underperformed. Things didn't improve massively on Sunday, as despite another great game from Derrick Henry(23.6 points), extremely disappointing numbers from Chris Godwin(9 points) and Zach Ertz(5.4 points) would doom Tug of War. Davante Adams(24.4 points) continued to electrify following his return from injury, while spot starter Tyler Boyd(16.9 points) put forth a solid effort. Every Rare Woofs starter passed double digit scoring, and although Cooper Kupp(18.5 points) got back to his best, Julian Edelman(21.9 points) ended the game on Sunday night to clinch the regular season ti

The Dog League: Week 13 Preview(2019 Season)

Rare Woofs could clinch the regular season title with a win this week, but must go through the red hot Tug of War to do so. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Bark Force Record: (3-9, 6th place) Now on a four game losing streak, Bark Force are desperate to salvage anything from this season, and do at least get back Patrick Mahomes and Hunter Henry this week. They will also start D.J. Moore in the flex after his excellent performance against the Saints, and drop last week's starting quarterback, Matt Ryan, for Kirk Cousins. Finally, they'll start the Rams defense against the Cardinals as the Bills defense have a tough matchup in Dallas. Week 13 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Patrick Mahomes RB Aaron Jones RB Nick Chubb WR DeAndre Hopkins WR Tyler Lockett TE Hunter Henry WR D.J. Moore K Justin Tucker DEF Los Angeles Rams Ridiculous Rascals Record: (4-8, 5th place) Rascal picks up Jonathan Williams

The Dog League: Week 12 Review(2019 Season)

Leaping Girl is put under pressure against the onslaught of Tug of War and Rascal desperately fights to keep his playoff hopes alive in Week 12 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Ridiculous Rascals vs Tailwaggerz Both of these teams have been ice cold the past month or so, and Tailwaggerz would secure a playoff spot with a win, eliminating Rascal from contention. The defending champs got off to a good start on Thursday thanks to Deshaun Watson(18.92 points). Sunday looked good on the outset for them, as the two Saints, Alvin Kamara(19.2 points) and Jared Cook(21.9 points) joined up with the revitalized Odell Beckham(20.4 points) to hold the lead. But it was the inconsistency of Tailwaggerz that cost them, as an unexpected horrible day from Josh Jacobs(4.6 points) and the awful performances of Matt Gay(2 points) and the Raiders defense(2 points) gave Rascal a lifeline. Rascal's waiver moves proved to be c

The Dog League: Week 12 Preview(2019 Season)

With just three games left in the year, Bark Force looks to finally beat Rare Woofs while Tug of War and Leaping Girl put winning streaks on the line. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Ridiculous Rascals Current Record: (3-8, 6th place) With injuries ravaging his team, Rascal completes a slight overhaul of his roster this week. Gone are Jordan Howard, Marlon Mack and Sammy Watkins, and in comes Jaylen Samuels, Jarvis Landry and Calvin Ridley. Samuels starts in place of the injured James Conner, while Landry takes the flex spot from Joe Mixon, who faces a tough matchup against Rascal's own defense, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Rascal does also make a difficult decision, returning Aaron Rodgers to start over Jimmy Garoppolo, who was great last week. Considering the two men will face each other on Sunday night, Rascal does still have time to reconsider that decision if he so wishes. UPDATE: Rascal will turn to Calvin Ridley for the

The Dog League: Week 11 Review(2019 Season)

Rare Woofs looks for another miracle while Emma duels with Bark Force in Week 11 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War vs Tailwaggerz After a season of inconsistent play, Tailwaggerz had a great chance to rebound from a tough loss to Rare Woofs, take down the red hot Tug of War and keep their chance at one of the top two spots alive. All of that sounds great on paper, but Deshaun Watson(3.96 points). Their star quarterback's worst game of the year set the tone for a really tough day for Tailwaggerz, with the high being the spot start of Michael Gallup(23.8 points) and a return to form for Alvin Kamara(22.2 points), and the low being the performances of Watson and the Panthers defense(2 points). Cap that off with an early injury to Tyreek Hill(0 points), and Tailwaggerz never really had a chance. Tug of War got another easy win thanks to Dak Prescott(31.56 points), Michael Thomas(25.4 points) and

The Dog League: Week 11 Preview(2019 Season)

With just four weeks left in the year, we do have one more trade taking place in the league, as Rascal gives up tight end Mark Andrews to acquire Courtland Sutton from Rare Woofs. More information will be given below. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Ridiculous Rascals Current Record: (3-7, 6th place) With Darren Waller firmly entrenched as the starter, Rascal sells high on Andrews, who is coming off of a two touchdown game. He gets back Sutton, who has been extremely reliable this year, but will have to adjust to a new quarterback under center. Sutton immediately gets a start as Golden Tate is on bye while James Conner is healthy and returns to the starting lineup. With Conner back, Rascal dropped Matt Breida to pick up Joe Mixon, who starts over Marlon Mack as he prepares to face the Raiders. He also dropped Jaylen Samuels to bring back Marquise Brown. Jimmy Garoppolo replaces Aaron Rodgers as Rodgers is on bye, while Rascal hop

The Dog League: Week 10 Review(2019 Season)

Rare Woofs and Tailwaggerz renew hostilities in the league's premier rivalry, resulting in another absolute classic showdown. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War vs Bark Force Tug of War have caught fire as of late, and were once again all over it from the very start, with Derrick Henry(33.1 points), Michael Thomas(28.2 points) and the Ravens defense(24 points) putting Bark Force in immediate trouble. Fortunately for them, the returning Patrick Mahomes(29.84 points) was magnificent, and Aaron Jones(27.3 points) bounced back in a big way to open the possibility of a late comeback. But the normally steady receivers failed Bark Force, as Stefon Diggs(7.9 points) couldn't get much going and Tyler Lockett(5.9 points) was stifled by the 49ers and picked up an injury along the way. Despite the poor performances of the two Rams starters, Cooper Kupp(0 points) and Greg Zuerlein(3 points), Tug of War won their second g

The Dog League: Week 10 Preview(2019 Season)

Tailwaggerz looks to get a winning streak going as they face off with Tailwaggerz in one of the league's premier rivalries. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Ridiculous Rascals Current Record: (3-6, 6th place) It's been a tough month for Rascal, who has dealt with tons of different injuries and inconsistent performances that have seen him finally hit rock bottom. It's not getting any easier this week, with Adam Thielen likely out on Sunday and James Conner's status currently murky. Rascal will list Conner as a starter, but dropped Sony Michel to bring back Matt Breida as a backup for Conner if necessary. He does get back Julio Jones this week, who sends the banged up Thielen to the bench, and Golden Tate replaces John Brown in the starting lineup, as he has a cushy matchup with the Jets this week. Rascal gets a new starting defense, bringing in the Saints as the Steelers face the high powered Rams offense, and finds

The Dog League: Week 9 Review(2019 Season)

Leaping Girl gets her chance to finally gain the upper hand in her over two month long quest to catch Rare Woofs, though she may have a new target in that black cat. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War vs Ridiculous Rascals This game was over from the word "go", as Adam Thielen(0 points) went out early for Rascal, while Zach Ertz(25.3 points) and Derrick Henry(24.9 points) took turns pummeling Rascal into the dirt. Tug of War's reliance on Chicago did put them in some danger, as spot starter Allen Robinson(1.6 points) and the Bears defense(4 points) were both horrible, but it wasn't enough to make this game in any way competitive. Dak Prescott(21.48 points) struck the death blow on Monday night, as Tug of War wins their second game out of the last three and sends Ridiculous Rascals plummeting to the basement of the league. Final Score: Tug of War(123.88) - Ridiculous Rascals(84.84) Game 2:

The Dog League: Week 9 Preview(2019 Season)

Leaping Girl gets her best shot to play catch up this week, as she prepares to face the juggernaut known as Rare Woofs. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Tug of War Current Record: (2-6, 6th place) A tough season doesn't get any easier this week for Tug of War, as top receivers Michael Thomas and Cooper Kupp are on bye. They at least get Dak Prescott back, and return Derrick Henry to the starting lineup in the flex spot. Their 2nd starting receiver behind Chris Godwin will be Allen Robinson, who has been solid despite the struggles of Mitchell Trubisky and faces a beatable Eagles secondary. They drop last week's stream, Jared Goff, to pick up a new backup tight end in Jimmy Graham, and bring in Jason Myers for Matt Prater, as he starts in place of Greg Zuerlein and gets set to face the Buccaneers. Week 9 Starting Lineup(vs Ridiculous Rascals) QB Dak Prescott RB Saquon Barkley RB Leonard Fournette WR Chris Godwin WR

The Dog League: Week 8 Review(2019 Season)

Rare Woofs continue to flex their might in Week 8 of the Dog League. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com) Game 1: Tug of War(163.38) vs Rare Woofs(195.36) ANALYSIS The rich get richer, as Rare Woofs added JuJu Smith-Schuster(21.3 points) for a spot start and Tevin Coleman(37.8 points) to their bench as the league leaders get even stronger. They got great performances from their stars, Dalvin Cook(28.1 points) and Christian McCaffrey(27.5 points) and receivers Julian Edelman(27.5 points) and Kenny Golladay(28.3 points) stepped up in the absence of Davante Adams and Amari Cooper. Add in a feast from the 49ers defense(22 points) and this team looks totally unstoppable right now. For Tug of War, this was another tough loss, as they scored extremely well in defeat, with Saquon Barkley(28.3 points), Michael Thomas(27.3 points) and Cooper Kupp(35 points) leading the way. A really quiet game from Zach Ertz(4 points), and a lesser performance
