Behind the Universe #3: The End of an Era

Last night at WrestleMania, we witnessed an incredible show. On this episode of Behind the Universe, I will make some big announcements about my Universe Mode, done out of kayfabe. This is a big post, so I hope you're ready.

First up, WrestleMania marked the end of Season 2 of Henry's Universe Mode. With some huge changes in store, it was time to start anew, and that begins next Monday on Raw, for the start of Season 3. What are those changes? Let's run them down.

Season 3 Changes

-First of all, all "titles" in Henry's Universe Mode have been officially re-branded to "championships". I think this just sounds a lot better, and gives a more official feel to the belts themselves. However, all matches for said belts will still be referred to as "title matches".

-I've copied a lot of real-life WWE into Universe Mode for Season 3. All shows now feature the real-life sets, and the pay-per-view schedule has also been mirrored (SmackDown is also now SmackDown Live). This means that branded pay-per-views have now returned as well. I never liked making my own schedule, and I like branded events, so this was a change that was a long time coming.

-This is also applies to the championships. The World Heavyweight Championship, won by Samoa Joe at WrestleMania, is now the Universal Championship, and matches the real-life design. The World and WWE Tag Team Championships have swapped brands, meaning The Wyatts are heading to SmackDown Live and American Alpha are going to Raw. The belts have been swapped out for the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Some people may dislike this, but I simply wanted to modernize my Universe Mode.

-I will be hosting the first Universe Mode Draft this Wednesday, where the fates of Raw and SmackDown competitors will hang in the balance. I'll explain the rules in the actual post.

-You may be asking yourself why Main Event was cancelled this past Wednesday. I wasn't having fun making or writing the shows, so it was a long time coming. Combine that with the schedule change, and I'm proud to announce....

-That NXT is returning to Henry's Universe Mode! I did love writing NXT, and I'm ecstatic to bring it back. NXT is once more the third brand, but this isn't the same show you remember. First of all, NXT has no roster. I've given them one male competitor, one female competitor and one tag team from each brand. They are:

Male Competitors- Hideo Itami from Raw and Apollo Crews from SmackDown
Female Competitors- Carmella from Raw and Natalya from SmackDown
Tag Teams- Hype Bros from Raw and The Ascension from SmackDown

The rest of NXT's roster will be filled with a combination of their real-life roster and a few indie stars. NXT has also been given the Cruiserweight Divison, it's championship and all competitors. It should be a very fun show, and debuts next Wednesday.

I've unveiled a lot on this episode of Behind the Universe. Some of what I've said may be confusing, but that should be cleared up soon enough. I hope you're ready for Season 3 of Henry's Universe Mode, and a big thanks to all the support I got for WrestleMania.

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

American Dad "Stompe Le Monde" Review

You know, I once tried to make it in musical theater. If only I had watched this episode beforehand, I would've known I needed a leather jacket to truly make it. Alas, those dreams are for a more pretentious soul than mine. "Stompe Le Monde" is a wild episode of American Dad, one that starts with Stan's previously unknown uncle dying and ends with wanton destruction of many Sonic Drive-Ins. It's a crazy a journey as it sounds, one that left me just struggling to keep up. The family to use the new inheritance to travel to New York City, but Stan quickly blows the money on the rights to Stomp, which is apparently a real musical. The whole town of Langley is very excited to see the new show, but Stan has no idea what he's doing, never once hiring a director or even rehearsing. Why this only came up literally minutes before opening is anyone's guess. The Smith Family is forced to go on the run, and are attacked by many ferocious coyotes off-screen. In ye...

American Dad "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" Review

American Dad as a show is definitely not afraid to get a little freaky, and nothing is more evident than the existence of Rogu, Roger's tumor that became a character himself in "Persona Assistant". Rogu primarily works as a character because he stays in the background, but this week, he takes a starring role in one of the weirdest American Dad episodes to date. "The Hand that Rocks the Rogu" has little in the way of traditional plot structure, and can only barely be considered an episode at all. It's more a collection of funny and bizarre skits, with a few running plot points that end up forming some sort of resolution. Steve wants to become a babysitter, but Francine says he's not ready, so he needs to prove himself to her. He does that by taking care of Rogu, as Roger is off for a night of NSFW activities. Steve is instructed not to let Rogu have candy or screentime, but violates both rules almost immediately. It turns out that Rogu multiplies w...
