How fun, another Raw-branded pay-per-view.
It's not that Raw is abjectly bad. It's just that it's pretty.....well, bad. There was plenty of good wrestling on this show, but none of the matches really have any emotional investment behind them. What you're left with is guys and gals killing each other to get over non-existent stories, which pretty well sums up the 'E over the past five years.
Since this is a triple main event(which is not true, only one match can be a main event), let's start with the three Cell matches. Roman's proved to be pretty good in Cell matches, and he delivered a solid performance once again. Honestly, though, if a title was going to be hot-potatoed, I actually think Rusev should've won this match. Roman's going to be in main events again eventually, and I think Rusev works better with the US Title. Next up is Owens-Rollins. Now, anyone who's read these reviews knows I love Seth, and I've wanted him to turn face since Night of Champions last year. That said, even I can't cheer this version of Seth, a sign of how badly WWE botched his face turn. This was a very good match, though I would've liked it either end clean or have a major shake-up. Finally, we had Charlotte-Sasha. I loved Charlotte's heel work early in the match, jumping Sasha and putting her through the table. Everything else..........meh. Sasha losing in her hometown makes about as much sense as this show.
Then there's the everything else portion of the show. Bayley's win over Dana was the only true babyface win of the night. Both tag matches were fine, though New Day have gotten really, really stale. Brian Kendrick's win was well deserved, and sets up some nice stories to build on.
5/10
I wish there was more to say about this show. Other than the Cell matches, there really wasn't anything else worth talking about, a major downside to gimmick PPVs. Am I looking forward to Survivor Series? Kind of.
