NXT Takeover: London
October 30th, 2016
Location: London, England
William Regal's Address
We opened the show with NXT's General Manager. He welcomed the audience to London, England, home of his United Kingdom. He guaranteed that his boys would be walking out with gold on NXT's final night.
Pentagon Dark vs Sting- No Holds Barred Match
With that bombshell, we opened with a car crash of a match. Unfortunately for the Stinger, it was Pentagon Dark that controlled this match, with the Breaker of Bones determined to protect his master's identity. Sting refused to stay down, not even after a shot from his own signature baseball bat, but Pentagon Dark extinguished The Icon's hopes of victory with a devastating Fear Factor through a table.
After the match, Pentagon Dark wasn't finished, providing another sacrifice by snapping Sting's arm once more. He then walked up the ramp and left the arena, leaving his master's identity still a secret.
Winner: Pentagon Dark
Emma(c) vs Alexa Bliss vs Bayley vs Sasha Banks- NXT Women's Title Match
This opened with all four women grouping up, with Emma and Alexa working together as mentor and protege to take out Bayley and Sasha. Their plan worked for a little while, until Alexa got a little too greedy, trying to pin Emma with a roll-up. The two quickly began exchanging fists, Emma furious that her protege would attempt to pin her. Bayley and Sasha then went at it in a more sporting manner, exchanging holds and not getting too aggressive. Bayley had it won with a Bayley-to-Belly, but Emma saved her title by taking out the ref. Alexa took her advantage, taking out her mentor with a steel chair before delivering a Twisted Bliss. Bayley broke up the pin this time, before delivering a second Bayley-to-Belly to Alexa for the win, claiming her third NXT Women's Title.
Winner and the NEW NXT Women's Champion: Bayley
Gallows and Anderson(c) vs The Dirty Heels- NXT Tag Team Title Match
The dominant tag team champs picked a gameplan to perfection, targeting Aries from the get go, realizing that he was the smaller man. Although both Aries and Roode had a lot of fighting spirit, it was pretty clear they were out matched, by the pure power of the champions. It took no effort from Gallows and Anderson to connect on a Magic Killer on Aries, but they were shocked when he kicked out. Aries did his best to fight back, but stayed in the match far too long, getting caught with a second Magic Killer. Anderson made sure he stayed down this time, getting extra leverage with his feet on the second rope. Gallows and Anderson roll on, still champions.
After the match, Bobby Roode's ego got the better of him, as he berated Aries for taking the fall. Fed up, he turned his back on his tag team partner, walking out on The Dirty Heels.
Winners and still NXT Tag Team Champions: Gallows and Anderson
Neville(c) vs Sami Zayn- European Title Match
This match looked like a potential classic, but was soured very quickly by the presence of William Regal, who accompanied Neville to the ring. Neville was determined to do whatever necessary to hold on to his gold, and Sami was determined to knock the champ off his perch. This two former friends put on an absolute wrestling classic in the early going, exchanging hold and quick strikes. Neville quickly exhibited his high-flying prowess, knocking down Sami and hitting a big suicide dive. A missed attempt on the Red Arrow gave the challenger an opening, and Sami locked in the Koji Clutch. Neville fought out with a thumb to the eye, which enraged Sami, who began smashing Neville with rights and lefts. An exhausted Neville fell into the corner, which set Sami up perfectly for the Helluva Kick, but before the ref could make the count, Regal got involved. Sami got right in the GM's face, before taking down Regal and hitting him with big strikes. Neville took advantage of the commotion, hitting Sami with an unnoticed low blow, rolling him back into the ring for a Red Arrow. One three count later, and Neville remained the only European Champion.
Winner and still European Champion: Neville
Bad News Barrett(c) vs Samoa Joe vs Daniel Bryan- NXT Title Match
Thanks to be taken out in the previous match, William Regal did not accompany his champion to the ring. Joe and Bryan began taking out each other, with quite a few unresolved issues between the pair. Barrett played the waiting game, letting them do damage to each other. Eventually, the champ got involved, sending Joe to the outside before hitting a Bull Hammer on Bryan. Bryan was not going down that easily, though, kicking out the champ's best maneuver. Enraged, Barrett went wild with a steel chair, taking out both of his challengers. Realizing it was necessary, Joe and Bryan formed an alliance, trying to take Barrett out. They just couldn't work together, though, coming to blows once more, before Barrett took advantage, hitting another Bull Hammer on Bryan. Samoa Joe got some payback on Barrett when he blindsided him with a steel chair shot off the skull, before locking in the Coquina Clutch. Barrett, with nowhere to go, tapped out, and Samoa Joe was crowned a two time NXT Champion,
Winner and the NEW NXT Champion: Samoa Joe
The final episode of NXT ends with the Samoan Submission Machine on top. Adios from NXT and WWE 2k16. It's time for the next chapter.
