The Dog League: 2017 Draft(Part 1)

Welcome to the official start of Season 2 of The Dog League! I'm your host Henry Keys, and in case you missed it, here's a brief recap in what went down in our inaugural year. Four Smith Ranch Dogs(Trinket, Bucky, Rascal and Emma) formed their own league and stocked up on talent. Bucky's Tailwaggerz side lit up the scoreboards, but it was ultimately Trinket's Tug of War that took home the championship. After finishing in last place, Emma and her Leaping Girl squad will have the first pick, so let's get to it.

(Note: This is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com. I control all four teams, making decisions for all of them. This was an auto-pick draft, with all draft picks completely random).

Leaping Girl(Season Prediction: 4th)

1st Round, 1st Overall- RB David Johnson- Grade: A
2nd Round, 8th Overall- RB LeSean McCoy- Grade: B
3rd Round, 9th Overall- RB DeMarco Murray- Grade: B-
4th Round, 16th Overall- WR Dez Bryant- Grade: C
5th Round, 17th Overall- WR T.Y. Hilton- Grade: C+
6th Round, 24th Overall- TE Jordan Reed- Grade: B
7th Round, 25th Overall- QB Drew Brees- Grade: A
8th Round, 32nd Overall- K Justin Tucker- Grade: B-
9th Round, 33rd Overall- DEF Seattle Seahawks- Grade: C-
10th Round, 40th Overall- WR DeAndre Hopkins- Grade: C+
11th Round, 41st Overall- WR Amari Cooper- Grade: B
12th Round, 48th Overall- WR Alshon Jeffery- Grade: B-
13th Round, 49th Overall- RB Dalvin Cook- Grade: D
14th Round, 56th Overall- RB Mark Ingram- Grade: B
15th Round, 57th Overall- TE Delanie Walker- Grade: B+

Summary:

It was a running back heavy first few rounds for Leaping Girl, including number one pick David Johnson. Her receiving corps could use some help, with Dez Bryant, coming off of an injury-riddled 2016, leading the way. She scored some quality late round additions, with guys like Hopkins, Cooper, Jeffery and Delanie Walker. Drew Brees is the undisputed number one quarterback, but she'd probably like to get a back-up at some time. Not really a great draft for Emma, especially compared to the rest of the league. We're probably looking at another last place finish for her this season.

Tailwaggerz(Season Prediction: 2nd)

1st Round, 2nd Overall- RB Le'Veon Bell- Grade: A
2nd Round, 7th Overall- WR Mike Evans- Grade: C+
3rd Round, 10th Overall- RB Jordan Howard- Grade: B+
4th Round, 15th Overall- WR Jordy Nelson- Grade: B
5th Round, 18th Overall- WR Michael Thomas- Grade: B+
6th Round, 23rd Overall- QB Tom Brady- Grade: A-
7th Round, 26th Overall- TE Greg Olsen- Grade: B
8th Round, 31st Overall- DEF Houston Texans- Grade: C+
9th Round, 34th Overall- K Stephen Gostkowski- Grade: B-
10th Round, 39th Overall- RB Lamar Miller- Grade: A
11th Round, 42nd Overall- RB C.J. Anderson- Grade: C
12th Round, 47th Overall- WR Doug Baldwin- Grade: B
13th Round, 50th Overall- WR Allen Robinson- Grade: B+
14th Round, 55th Overall- RB Joe Mixon- Grade: F
15th Round, 58th Overall- TE Jimmy Graham- Grade: A-

Summary:

Quick note on Joe Mixon: because of his history, he was ineligible to be drafted. Tailwaggerz will have to immediately release him, meaning one of their picks were completely useless, thus the poor grade. Otherwise, this was a great draft for Bucky's team. Le'Veon Bell returns to head the pack, which includes a good mix of veterans and younger players. There is talent all over the field, easily one of the best teams in the league post-draft. Adding in some great late round talent, with guys like Lamar Miller, Allen Robinson and Jimmy Graham, this team should be dominant this year.

That's it for Part 1 of The Dog League Draft. I will be back later today for Part 2, with includes the Ridiculous Rascals and defending champions Tug of War.

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!

Henry's Universe Mode #231: WrestleMania II (Part 3)

Finn Balor vs The Undertaker Finn Balor felt the full force of the strikes of The Undertaker in the early going, eating rights and lefts to the skull. The Undertaker continued to lay into Balor, dumping him to the floor with a clothesline, then following up with his vintage suicide dive! After a brief skirmish on the outside, the Deadman got destructive, grabbing the Demon's throat and driving him through the announce table with a chokeslam! It was here that The Undertaker allowed Finn Balor a chance to just give up and concede defeat, but Balor wasn't having any of it. Finn got his second wind, countering an attempted chokeslam to connect with a reverse DDT, then the shotgun dropkick in the corner. Up top, Finn connected with Coup de Grace! 1........................2.......................but it's going to take a lot more to put The Undertaker away, especially at WrestleMania. Balor laid in some shots, busting The Undertaker open, but that proved to be a huge mistake. ...

Lost and Found: The Legacy of Bray Wyatt

On August 24th, 2023, the professional wrestling world experienced yet another devastating heartbreak, as Windham Rotunda, aka Bray Wyatt, passed away at the age of 36. Wyatt has a number of accolades to his name after over a decade spent in the WWE, having won the namesake championship once, in addition to competing at multiple WrestleManias. That's the cliffnotes version, the driest form of exposition to summarize one of the most captivating careers we as wrestling fans have ever witnessed. But Bray's legacy and impact, brief as it was, is truly one of a kind.  "Potential" was the buzzword for Bray from the very beginning, and even at his earliest stages as a performer, it was impossible to ignore. Bray's early days spent tagging with his younger brother, the future Bo Dallas, in the soon-to-be defunct Florida Championship Wrestling passed without notice, but the two third-generation progenies found the spotlight quickly. The grassroots of NXT formed under their...
