Sasha Banks(c) vs Asuka- SmackDown Women's Championship Match
Summerslam opens with a massive contest, as Sasha Banks puts her newly won title on the line against Asuka. After defeating Asuka and Kairi Sane in tag team action a few months back, "The Empress" got her revenge, forcing Banks to tap to the Asuka Lock following an in-ring confrontation. Asuka goaded Banks into giving her a match with Bayley, then proceeded to destroy the champ's best friend, leaving her without any allies. Sasha declared that she was willing to defend her title against Asuka, not to protect Bayley's honor but her own, as "The Boss" seeks revenge for her loss to Asuka at Money in the Bank last year.
The Bar(c) vs The Undisputed Era- Raw Tag Team Championship Match
Adam Cole, Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly have slowly proved their dominance since coming to Raw, with Cole currently United States champ and Fish and O'Reilly becoming number one contenders after defeating The Usos. Cole has promised that his group will be "draped in gold" following Summerslam, but did take a count-out loss on the go-home show to Cesaro, Sheamus and Kassius Ohno.
Chad Gable(c) vs Rusev- Intercontinental Championship Match
Following an excellent match between Chad Gable and Matt Hardy at The Bash, both sides would show respect on SmackDown, with Gable and Jordan shaking hands with both Hardy Boyz. But Rusev would intrude, attacking everyone in the ring, as the "Bulgarian Brute" continued his war against tag team wrestling. After impressively defeating both Hardys in a handicap match, Edge declared Rusev the number one contender. Gable has been a great champion so far, but can anyone stop the rampaging Rusev?
Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair and Naomi vs The Riott Squad
In a shocker, Naomi would defeat Lynch and Flair in a triple threat match on Raw, allowing her to challenge for Ruby Riott's title. But the champion brought friends, as Riott's allies interfered to help her retain, though all three paid for it after the match, as Becky and Charlotte united with Naomi to bring the fight to the Riott Squad. Goldberg made the six-woman tag official for Summerslam, and the Raw GM added extra stakes, as should Becky, Charlotte and Naomi win, they will all earn the right to face Riott for the title at No Mercy. But should the Riott Squad emerge victorious, then their opponents will not receive any more title shots while Ruby remains champion.
Sami Zayn(c) vs Daniel Bryan- WWE Championship Match
The main event of Part 1 was made official two nights after The Bash, as Daniel Bryan was declared number one contender after defeating John Cena. In a promo between the two, Bryan noted the similarities between champion and challenger, as both are beloved underdogs and Bryan is a former WWE Champion. But Zayn was having none of the respectful exchange, declaring that he knew how to win, which drew him the ire of the WWE fans who already felt peeved after he defeated Johnny Gargano at The Bash. Sami has slowly grown more ego-centric, feeling the crowd should just be "honored" to be in his presence. Bryan has been increasingly disappointed in Zayn's words and actions, but promises to bring him back down to Earth at Summerslam.

After multiple impressive wins over the likes of Baron Corbin, The Miz and Elias, it seemed like Kassius Ohno would be in line for a title shot, but Adam Cole disagreed. Calling Ohno a "joke" he then hand-picked Bo Dallas, of all people, to challenge for his title. But Ohno decimated the unfortunate Dallas backstage, before teaming with former partner Cesaro and Sheamus to pick up a count-out win over The Undisputed Era, earning his title match.
The Dream Team(c) vs The Balor Club- SmackDown Tag Team Championship Match
By virtue of defeating The New Day at The Bash, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson earned one more shot at the blue brand's tag team titles. After multiple failures in the past, Finn Balor warned his boys that if they come up short again, the "repercussions" will be dire. Can Gallows and Anderson impress their leader, or will Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre continue to prove worthy of their moniker?
Kevin Owens vs Steve Austin
Be careful which snake you poke, because the wrong one will rip your throat out. Kevin Owens found this out the hard way, as his continued use of the Stone Cold Stunner has drawn the ire of the "Texas Rattlesnake". Stone Cold came knocking after Owens used the Stunner on multiple legends, including the likes of Mick Foley, Shawn Michaels and Kurt Angle. While Owens gloated, Austin struck, dropping Owens with a Thesz Press and unloading right hands and forcing KO to scramble to safety. On the go-home show, Austin took to the mic, declaring that he had been cleared to compete and was ready to beat Kevin's a** black and blue on Sunday- and that's the bottom line, cause Stone Cold said so.
The Undertaker vs The Velveteen Dream
On the SmackDown following The Bash, an exciting announcement was made, as Edge happily announced that The Undertaker would debut on the blue brand the following week. But when the gong sounded, it was The Velveteen Dream that made his SmackDown debut instead! The Dream enthusiastically grabbed a mic, ready to introduce himself to the world, when The Undertaker arrived! But this was a different Undertaker, one riding on the back of a Harley to the ring. The Undertaker took the Dream down with rights and lefts, before laying Velveteen out with a Last Ride! The Undertaker declared that "The Deadman" left for good at WrestleMania, and in his place rose "Big Evil". But The Dream refused to hide from the challenge, as on the go-home show, he confronted The Undertaker backstage, demanding a match for Summerslam and showing no fear. Can The Velveteen Dream make the ultimate statement in his debut match on SmackDown, or will "Big Evil" reign supreme?
Aleister Black(c) vs Brock Lesnar- Universal Championship Match
(Note: I brought back the Universal Championship for Raw, as it makes record-keeping and maintaining the wiki a lot easier)
After winning the Universal Championship for a second time and finally beating Shinsuke Nakamura at Money in the Bank, Aleister Black had no time to relax, as he was suddenly confronted by Bray Wyatt. Wyatt claimed to be a changed man, having learned respect and honor from Matt Hardy. Wyatt wanted nothing more than to be world champion again for the first time in over three years, and worked his way towards a title shot, defeating Randy Orton and Jon Moxley. Impressed, Black gave Wyatt his shot, but Bray came up short in a great match on Raw. Following that match, a much bigger threat arose in the returning Brock Lesnar! Incredibly upset after his loss to Samoa Joe at WrestleMania, "The Beast" brutalized everyone, hitting F-5s on Wyatt, Black, the ref and even the timekeeper. Enraged, Goldberg called Brock out, as the two former rivals stood face to face. Brock demanded a championship match, in order to prove that he remains the most dominant force in Universe Mode, or the attacks would continue. Though Goldberg believed he could handle Lesnar, for the sake of his roster and crew, he accepted the demand. On the go-home show, Brock held court in the ring, taking anyone who dared cross him to Suplex City. But the lights would go out, as Aleister Black appeared in the ring! Black went for Black Mass, but Lesnar caught Black's leg and tossed the champion across the ring with a German suplex! Brock Lesnar is back, he's coming for the Universal Championship and when Summerslam concludes, he may very well have it.
