Injuries and bye weeks wreak havoc on the league in Week 7. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)
Game 1: Tug of War(130.76) vs Leaping Girl(99.74)
ANALYSIS
Tug of War gets their second win of the season, led by their most reliable performers, Dak Prescott(20.56 points) and Michael Thomas(22.1 points). They actually ended up leaving their top scorer, Allen Robinson(24.7 points) on the bench, but it made no difference as they faced a Leaping Girl team that was a complete mess. At least she got another outstanding performance from the Patriots defense(30 points), but that was a lone positive in a dismal game that saw only a few players reach double digits. Among the biggest disappointments were Phillip Lindsay(4.2 points), George Kittle(6.8 points) and Michael Gallup(6.4 points), but her issues were compounded by leaving Lamar Jackson(23.32 points) and Austin Ekeler(25.5 points) on the bench. This was a big missed opportunity by Leaping Girl to try and keep pursuing first place Rare Woofs, and she'll need to try and recover next week in a big game with Tailwaggerz.
Game 2: Tailwaggerz(109.92) vs Ridiculous Rascals(82.16)
ANALYSIS
Injuries plagued Rascal this week, as Matt Ryan(2.56 points), Adam Thielen(9.5 points) and Will Fuller(1.6 points) would all exit before the final whistle. Then, you look at his bench, where Aaron Rodgers(43.76 points), Darren Waller(31.6 points), Sony Michel(22.4 points) and the Cowboys defense(20 points) were all left behind, and you get an idea why he lost this game by over 20. At least Ezekiel Elliott(26.7 points) had his best game of the season, just in time for him to go on bye next week. What a rough day for poor Rascal. On the flip side, Tailwaggerz did have their struggles, with Evan Engram(1.6 points) and David Johnson(0.2 points) being extremely limited and uninvolved in their team's gameplan. But that was made up by the receivers, as T.Y. Hilton(19.4 points) and Tyreek Hill(16.4 points) were both stellar, and the Ravens defense(18 points) helped close out the win. Tailwaggerz have gotten hot at the right time, and with their top receivers getting through bye weeks, if they can get David Johnson and Alvin Kamara back to full health, this could easily be one of the top teams for the rest of the year.
Game 3: Bark Force(107.84) vs Rare Woofs(113.26)
ANALYSIS
The curse continues for Bark Force, as they have still yet to beat Rare Woofs in the five times they've met since both teams joined the league last year. It certainly felt like a curse this week, as Patrick Mahomes(7.24 points) and Delanie Walker(0 points) went down injured, while Devonta Freeman(4.5 points) got ejected. Finally getting a big game from DeAndre Hopkins(25.6 points) was nice, as was the bounce back performance from Aaron Jones(18.3 points), but this is a team in complete freefall right now that has plummeted all the way to last place. Rare Woofs did have a quiet game from Kenny Golladay(3.1 points), and the gamble to stream Devin Singletary(2.6 points) didn't work out, but Dalvin Cook(27.9 points) and the 49ers defense(20 points) led the league leaders to their sixth win. On Rare Woofs bench, Hunter Henry(15.7 points) was again stellar, and with the team not particularly needing a backup tight end right now, he could be on the move in the near future....
