Henry's World

With the release of WWE 2k17 just a few weeks away, I'm sure many of you will be wondering what the plans for Universe Mode going forward are. Near the end of October, there will be a season finale event, the last post of what I'm calling Henry's Universe Mode: Season 1. At the beginning of November, Universe Mode content will resume, this time under the name Henry's Universe Mode: Season 2. I'll be taking this opportunity to clean out my rosters, removing some of the dead weight, guys who aren't appearing often, and replacing them with new superstars, male and female. Universe Mode content will continue to stay the same for now, and I'll be going through all my posts to apply the new tags, as appropriate.

Holy sh**, you guys. Cartman's final line of the episode summarizes this season thus far. Things really have gone to sh** in South Park this season, with a gender war underway, a confusing presidential debate on going and a race to catch a destructive troll before it's too late. This episode seriously ramped up the stakes, and there are certainly some big revelations yet to be made. We start off with the troll skankhunt42 still running rampant, seemingly unstoppable and causing chaos throughout the town and beginning to affect the world as a whole. Last week, we saw a Danish olympian become involved in the war against Gerald's online persona. Gerald continues to target her and her status as a breast cancer survivor, before things are taken to the next level when she commits suicide. Not realizing how far this could go, Gerald freaks out, destroying his phone and computer, attempting to get as far away from this as possible. It doesn't turn out well for him, as it ap...

Following the events of last week's edition of NXT, GM William Regal officially announced the formation of a new group, the United Kingdom. Regal claimed that the United Kingdom is here to serve and protect NXT, and deliver the brand to new heights. Regal then retired the NXT Television Title, saying that NXT needed a new look, bringing in the European Title. In the interest of "fairness" he offered the last NXT Television Champion, EC3, the first shot at the belt, against the United Kingdom's newest member. He also signed quite a few big matches for this episode, including a big main event as Sami Zayn and Daniel Bryan take on himself and Bad News Barrett. Following the events of Unforgiven, Nia Jax has been suspended indefinitely by the Board of Directors, taking any decision making out of Paul Heyman's hands. Jax, who won the Women's Title from Trish Stratus on Sunday, has been stripped of the belt, and her reign will not be officialy recognized by the WWE. More news as we get it.

In which the WWE is hosting another pay-per-view, and you could be excused for forgetting about it. For all the low expectations and abysmal TV ratings, this was actually a pretty decent show, with several outstanding matches and nothing that stood out as abjectly bad. However, the failure falls on the booking of said outstanding matches, failing to really move the company in the right direction. We opened with one of the better matches of the night, for the Tag Team Titles. Gallows and Anderson haven't really clicked since their arrival in the WWE, and their booking as a midcard comedy act hasn't helped. Tonight, though, they were on fire, absolutely dominating the New Day and showing why they can be such an entertaining tag team. Then the finish happened, and everyone was frustrated again. Next up, we saw the pay-per-view debut of the new Crusierweight Division, in a decent match between TJP and Brian Kendrick. The real story is Kendrick's heel turn after the match...

With No Mercy three weeks away, tonight the main event could be in question, as Stone Cold Steve Austin defends his spot against AJ Styles. We begin the SmackDown Tag Team Invitational, an 8 team elimination tournament that will culminate at No Mercy, with the sole qualifying match. The winner of the tournament will be crowned the new number one contenders. Also, new Women's World champ Paige is in action on this edition of SmackDown. On today's episode of NXT, we see a rematch of last week's incredible main event, when Daniel Bryan faces Sami Zayn again, this time with number one contendership on the line. We also will see who will be first to face Gallows and Anderson, the in-ring debut of Alexa Bliss and much more. Universe Mode NXT September 22nd, 2016 Location: Washington, D.C. Heath Slater vs Pentagon Dark This was the first match back for the newly christened Pentagon Dark, and he looked to come back in a big way. Slater threw everything he could at Pentagon, even hitting a Smash Hit, but Pentagon looked determined to provide his master with another sacrifice, surviving Heath's offense. Pentagon Dark ruthlessly grounded Slater with strike after strike, before snapping Slater's arm with The Sacrifice, his hammerlock armbreaker. Heath could only moan in pain as Pentagon picked up a victory and provided another sacrifice to his master. Winner: Pentagon Dark Zack Sabre Jr vs ...

F***ing social media, right? I'll start off this review by saying that this was one of the best South Park episodes I've ever watched. From top to bottom, this episode captured everything the show is about, from delivering wacky humor to insightful social commentary to genuine emotional moments. Almost everything was perfect, perhaps the greatest half an hour that Matt and Trey have ever written. Let's dive into it. The whole episode is centered around online trolling, but particularly the troll revealed last week, skankhunt42, who is in fact Kyle's dad. We start out by seeing Heidi Turner, overcome by the harassment, quit Twitter, throwing her phone into a river. The comparison of leaving social media to suicide is a bit out there, but I feel they did it in a tasteful way. We get an excellent scene of Gerald's trolling and the damage he's causing, while jamming out to Boston. All of Gerald's work in this episode is incredible, plus it's cool to see...

On this episode of Raw, we get the response from Paul Heyman to the Shield's challenge last week. In the main event, Heyman's client Brock Lesnar teams with Intercontinental Champion CM Punk to take on the Shield's Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Women's Champion Trish Stratus is in action, Kurt Angle takes on Colin Cassady, and The Outsiders continue their road to the tag titles against the debuting Golden Truth. Universe Mode Monday Night Raw September 19th, 2016 Location: Nashville, TN Paul Heyman Issues His Response The Raw General Manager opened the show, and made it short and to the point. He was willing to accept the Shield's added stipulation, and should Seth Rollins win the World Heavyweight Title, he will resign from his position. Smackdown GM Teddy Long released the news earlier this week that Smackdown will be hosting it's next pay-per-view on October 9th, entitled No Mercy. In a massive main event match, the two former world champions that lost their belts at Summerslam, Randy Orton and Stone Cold Steve Austin, will face off for the right to challenge Cesaro for the WWE Title at No Mercy. Universe Mode Smackdown September 16th, 2016 Location: Detroit, MI New Age Outlaws vs The Ascension This episode of Smackdown opened with a clash between relatively new tag teams on the blue brand, with the Ascension making their debut. It was a very even, back and forth affair, but the turning point of the match came when Konnor was tagged in. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn simply couldn't match his power, and one Fall of Man on Gunn was enough for the victory. Welcome to a special Thursday edition of Raw. GM Paul Heyman has been very busy, signing some big matches for Unforgiven on September 25th. CM Punk and John Cena will finally settle their score, with the Intercontinental Title on the line in a ladder match. Former friends Shawn Michaels and Triple H face off in a Loser Leaves Town match, with the loser heading to Smackdown. Chyna asked for and received her rematch for the Women's Title at Unforgiven. And for this episode of Raw, the main event tag team match will earn the winners a tag title match against The Shield. Let's get going. Finally, South Park has come back................................home.(Massive pop) That's right, South Park has returned at long last, bringing with it a brand new season. Season premieres for South Park can go a lot of different ways, and most of the time wind up falling flat. Although this was by no means the greatest episode in history, it wasn't a complete flop. There were three separate stories in this episode, all tying together near the end of the episode. At school, an online troll has planted the seeds for a gender war, with many of the girls sitting out the national anthem in protest. Naturally, Cartman is taking advantage of this, stirring up trouble as usual, and naturally, Kyle is out to stop him. I've criticized South Park for going back to the well for very similar stories, and this one feels very similar to many others. It doesn't really get the time to properly develop beyond the normal Kyle-Cartman story, at least until the very end. In the final...

NXT has been remodeled thanks to the 2016 Talent Exchange, with big names like AJ Styles, Finn Balor and Paige all departing. William Regal added the biggest star in NXT history, though, when he acquired Daniel Bryan. Tonight, Regal has put together an amazing card, culminating in a dream match, when the newcomer Bryan faces former NXT Champion Sami Zayn. Universe Mode NXT September 14th, 2016 Location: New Orleans, LA Sting vs Kenny Omega NXT opened with a big match, as the man traded for Finn Balor, Sting, took on Balor's buddy in the Balor Club, Kenny Omega. Omega got off to a good start, connecting on a Tope con Hilo, but Sting quickly fought back. The Icon hit all of his signature moves, and looked to be closing in on a big win, before a hooded man blindsided him with a steel chair. The ref called for the bell, but the man refused to leave, hitting Sting several more times with the chair. The man removed his hood to reveal that he was the returning Pentagon Jr...

Before I proceed with this review, I have a few words to say. It was on this day 15 years ago, that the world shook and the towers fell. Since that day, there have been many changes. It is only right that we stop, even just for a second, to acknowledge those that passed before and paved the way for all to walk. For there cannot be progress without sacrifice, and there cannot be freedom without perseverance. This is not a day for inequality; this is not a day for injustice. Remember always to treat others with compassion and dignity, with honor and respect. For the world did not shake because of pride, nor did the towers fall because of spite. With this being the return of branded pay-per-views, many were pessimistic on this show. However, thanks to outstanding individual performances, fantastic booking(for the most part), and an overall fun show managed to overcome any fan anxiety.
