South Park "The Damned" Review

Holy sh**, you guys.

Cartman's final line of the episode summarizes this season thus far. Things really have gone to sh** in South Park this season, with a gender war underway, a confusing presidential debate on going and a race to catch a destructive troll before it's too late. This episode seriously ramped up the stakes, and there are certainly some big revelations yet to be made.

We start off with the troll skankhunt42 still running rampant, seemingly unstoppable and causing chaos throughout the town and beginning to affect the world as a whole. Last week, we saw a Danish olympian become involved in the war against Gerald's online persona. Gerald continues to target her and her status as a breast cancer survivor, before things are taken to the next level when she commits suicide. Not realizing how far this could go, Gerald freaks out, destroying his phone and computer, attempting to get as far away from this as possible. It doesn't turn out well for him, as it appears a mystery person has discovered his identity, with Denmark also on the warpath. Gerald, it seems, is screwed, and has been pushed into a very tight corner. It should be very interesting to find out just who this mystery person might be, as he or she will likely reveal their identity next episode.

The fallout from the boys attack on Cartman last episode is still being felt in a major way this episode. We see Cartman start to get very close with Heidi Turner, the girl who destroyed her phone last week, with the two bonding over their lack of social media presence. It's hard to believe that Cartman doesn't have an plan, and Heidi is likely crucial to it. It's entirely possible that Cartman is manipulating everything going on in the school, and wanted his devices destroyed just so he could get close to Heidi. At this point, anything is possible.

Finally, the presidential debate is still continuing forward, with a few scenes to continue the storyline in this episode. We see Garrison's attempts to sabotage his own campaign continue to fail as his opponent, the un-named Turd Sandwich, unable to actually secure any support. Randy is sucked into the debate, coming to the realization that everything sucks. He then stumbles upon an even bigger realization, as he begins to understand the impact that the "member berries" may be playing in this. It's clear this is an over-arching story, unlikely to be finished anytime soon, though the tension is definitely getting high.

8/10

Although most of the stories are very broad, South Park continues to deliver quality content, building to a big finish. Although last year's storyline fell a little short, I have confidence that this season may go down as one of the best in history.

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Henry's Universe Mode #205: SmackDown Live

Over the weekend, big news was broken by SmackDown GM Daniel Bryan, as he announced two title rematches for No Mercy. First up, Kenny Omega will defend his Intercontinental Championship against Randy Orton, and in the second, John Cena will look to make his first defense as WWE Champion against AJ Styles. Tonight on SmackDown Live, it's another Summerslam rematch in the main event, as Alexa Bliss defends against Emma. Can the Australian Sensation punch her ticket to No Mercy? Plus, Heath Slater takes on Aiden English, and the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, is in singles action. Universe Mode SmackDown Live September 12th, 2017 Location: Dallas, TX Heath Slater vs Aiden English This was a big chance for momentum for both of these two men, as Slater was kicked out of the Social Outcasts a few months ago, while English's tag team partner, Simon Gotch, was recently released. Both of these men showed a lot of potential, and got the crowd invested on a couple of nea...
