Daniel Bryan Promo
SmackDown's GM opened the show, thanking the fans in attendance for a warm reception. He cut straight to the point, saying that since SmackDown became it's own show and gained it's own identity, they have provided some of the best women's wrestling on the planet. And since Bryan took charge, he's always wanted to prove that the blue brand contains the best female athletes on the roster. At No Mercy, SmackDown will get that chance. As part of an agreement with Shane McMahon, the SmackDown and Raw Women's Champions will face off, with the winner to become the Undisputed Women's Champion, a title which will be defended on both shows.
Kevin Owens vs Enzo Amore
The Realest Guy in the Room wasted no time going on the attack here, as he looked to ruin the SmackDown debut of Kevin Owens. Enzo looked as good as we've ever seen him, nearly putting KO away multiple times. He continually frustrated Owens, but a frustrated Kevin Owens is a very, very dangerous man. Amore was battered from pillar to post, and finally finished off with a Pop-Up Powerbomb.
Winner: Kevin Owens
Attacking in Numbers
Afterward, Owens had little time to breath before he was attacked by the former SmackDown Tag Team Champions, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Both members of The Club laid a beatdown on Kevin, until his partner Sami Zayn rushed out to the ring. Gallows and Anderson retreated, with their message having been received.
Naomi vs Alexa Bliss
Following Daniel Bryan's huge announcement earlier in the night, there was now more pressure than ever on SmackDown Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. These two women were set to have a nice, competitive match when Emma intervened. Alexa's former mentor wasted no time laying her out with a Michinoku Driver, upset after losing the championship at Summerslam. Naomi looked to take advantage and went for the cover, but Bliss showed the heart of a champion, kicking out. Both women then went into an exchange of big, athletic moves, each desperately wanting this win. In the end, Alexa would get it with the Insault to Injury.
Winner: Alexa Bliss
Randy Orton vs Luke Harper
This was an intriguing challenge for Randy Orton in our main event, as he took on the Backwoods Brawler, Luke Harper. Early on, these two men put on a technical wrestling clinic, exchanging holds before Orton got bored and took a cheap shot. From then, it was a fight, as Harper used his power and unlikely athleticism to score several near falls. It was an impressive performance from Harper, showing a lot of signs of being a breakout performer, but he just didn't quite have what it took to put Orton away. The Viper would strike with the RKO to pick up the win, but it was a great showing from Harper tonight.
Winner: Randy Orton
Not Over Yet
There would be no respect shown from the Apex Predator after the match, as he looked to drop Harper with a second RKO. From the back came Kenny Omega, who cleared Orton from the ring. Randy chose wisely to retreat, but from the looks of the glare he gave Omega on his way up the ramp, this is far from over.
