A historic Week 5 in the Dog League sees perhaps one of the greatest games is league history. (Reminder: the Dog League is a custom fantasy football league run on NFL.com)
Leaping Girl
The game itself may be up for debate as the greatest game in Dog League history, but there's no doubt that Emma's nail-biting win over Tug of War is her biggest win in team history. Most of the credit for this incredible upset has to go to her duo of Houston Texans, Deshaun Watson and DeAndre Hopkins. The quarterback-receiver combo totaled over 58 combined points late on Sunday night, propelling Leaping Girl to their second consecutive win.
Week 5 Scoring(won against Tug of War 131.94-130.44)
QB Deshaun Watson(35.54 points)
RB LeSean McCoy(8.9 points)
RB DeMarco Murray(4.9 points)
WR Dez Bryant(11.2 points)
WR DeAndre Hopkins(23.2 points)
TE Delanie Walker(2.5 points)
WR T.Y. Hilton(17.7 points)
K Justin Tucker(12 points)
DEF Seattle Seahawks(16 points)
Tailwaggerz
Coming off of a major upset of Tug of War last week, this game had to be considered a major flop. Tailwaggerz just failed to get going, with no one on the team eclipsing 13 points. There's more than enough talent on this team to ensure that this week was just a poor showing, but it's not going to make the loss taste any better.
Week 5 Scoring(lost to Ridiculous Rascals 81.62-121.24)
QB Tom Brady(12.62 points)
RB Lamar Miller(8.9 points)
RB Le'Veon Bell(9.3 points)
WR Jordy Nelson(8.4 points)
WR Mike Evans(4.9 points)
TE Zach Ertz(12.1 points)
WR Stefon Diggs(0.4 points)
K Stephen Gostkowski(13 points)
DEF Baltimore Ravens(12 points)
Ridiculous Rascals
This was a tale of two stars, as Dak Prescott and Melvin Gordon led the way for another Ridiculous Rascals win this week. The Dallas quarterback and Chargers running back combined for just over 58 points, falling just narrowly to Emma's combo for the best duo of the week. The rest of the team didn't make a huge impact, but did well enough to carry the load. The win was not without its drawbacks for Rascal, as he did lose top receiver Odell Beckham for the rest of the season.
Week 5 Scoring(won against Tailwaggerz 121.24-81.62)
QB Dak Prescott(29.74 points)
RB Melvin Gordon(28.3 points)
RB Ezekiel Elliott(13.2 points)
WR Odell Beckham(16.5 points)
WR Brandin Cooks(8.5 points)
TE Charles Clay(3.1 points)
RB Jay Ajayi(5.9 points)
K Kai Forbath(8 points)
DEF Philadelphia Eagles(8 points)
Tug of War
Tug of War remains in first place exiting Week 5, despite being mired in a two game losing streak. They haven't looked bad these past two weeks, though, and it's far from time for this team to start giving up. Rookie Leonard Fournette led the way, with Aaron Rodgers and A.J. Green also putting in good shifts, but ultimately, it wasn't enough, as the Vikings defense came up just short on Monday night. It is worth pointing out that Tug of War had a very poor record in games decided by 10 points or less last year, and it seems that trend has continued on to this campaign.
Week 5 Scoring(lost to Leaping Girl 130.44-131.94)
QB Aaron Rodgers(24.04 points)
RB Todd Gurley(3 points)
RB Kareem Hunt(11.6 points)
WR A.J. Green(22.9 points)
WR Antonio Brown(15.7 points)
TE Travis Kelce(9.8 points)
RB Leonard Fournette(30.4 points)
K Dan Bailey(7 points)
DEF Minnesota Vikings(6 points)
