Henry's Universe Mode #42: NXT

Two weeks ago, we saw the debut of new Balor Club member, Kenny Omega. After watching his leader Finn Balor loose the NXT Championship to Sami Zayn last week at NXT Arrival, Omega has issued the challenge of a lifetime. Tonight on NXT, the new debutant faces the new champion, as Kenny Omega goes one on one with Sami Zayn!

The Balor Club vs The Lucha Dragons

Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were riding a bit of a cold streak, and were looking to get back on track against the Lucha Dragons. Anderson and Gallows really showed their full potential, dominating most of the match. Kalisto survived quite a bit of offense from the much bigger guys, even surviving the Magic Killer, thanks to an assist from Sin Cara. However, a Gallows Pole Chokebomb was enough for Gallows to seal the victory for his team.

Winners: The Balor Club

Bo Dallas vs Apollo Crews

Kenny Omega was not the only new face on NXT, as Apollo Crews made his debut against Bo Dallas. Crews showed off his talents early on, using his power to ground Dallas and stunning the crowd with high flying, daredevil maneuvers. Bo was not about to be outsmarted, and used his cunning and guile to stay in the match. However, Crews caught Bo with his Crews Control spinning powerbomb, and that was enough for victory.

Winner: Apollo Crews

Paige vs Sasha Banks

The NXT Women's Champion Paige was in enemy territory as she took on the hometown girl, Sasha Banks in her own backyard of Boston. Sasha was all over the champ right from the moment the bell rang, not giving Paige even a second to collect herself. Paige seemed to get more and more frustrated as she couldn't find any way to get back into the match. After a series of counters by Sasha and several near falls, Paige reached a breaking point and left the ring, and walked up the ramp, giving up on the match. Happy to take a win over the champ, Sasha hung out in the ring as the ref counted the champion out.

Winner: Sasha Banks

Pentagon Jr(c) vs X-Pac- NXT Television Title Match

There were those in the crowd that felt that X-Pac did not deserve this title match, but the challenger was not bothered, going at the champion early in the match. The champion seemed to be in a bit of trouble, but X-Pac made a crucial mistake, leaping into the Fear Factor from Pentagon Jr. X-Pac, though, showed his resiliency, kicking out of the move that most had not. A Sling Blade appeared to see the champion retain his title, but X-Pac kicked out again, and dropped Pentagon Jr with a X-Factor, but only for a 2 count. X-Pac seemed to be closing in on victory, but when Pentagon Jr countered the X-Factor into a second Fear Factor, that was it for the challenger.

Winner and still NXT Television Champion: Pentagon Jr

Kenny Omega vs Sami Zayn

Reports surfaced that Kenny Omega had been bragging about how easily he would defeat the new NXT Champion tonight, to the point that Finn Balor had outlawed any Balor Club members from accompanying the Omega to the ring. Kenny Omega quickly proved that he can go in the ring, out wrestling Sami to the surprise of the crowd. Both men engaged in a technical bout, with the high flying moves few and far between. That was until Omega, in an effort to impress, used Sami's own move against him, taking out the NXT Champion with a Tope con Hilo suicide dive. The two traded more and more offense, neither finding a way to beat the other. Omega seemed to have it won off the V-Trigger knee strike into an Omega Driver(fisherman driver), but Sami found a way to kick out. Omega was closing in on victory, about to perhaps find the killing blow, when Sami caught him with a big german suplex. He then whipped Omega into the corner and turned his lights out with the Helluva Kick, putting an end to a fantastic match and a great debut from Kenny Omega.

Winner: Sami Zayn

The Sami Zayn era has just begun on NXT. Stay tuned for Smackdown on Friday.

Latest Update on new puppy

As you may well know from my mom's posts, there is a handsome puppy in the house. His name is Rascal, which appropriately fits him. Before Tuesday, he'd never had much problem with the crate, something I found interesting. He'd also never experienced anxiety issues when people came and left. Then yesterday, my dad and I were standing in the driveway organizing things for a trip to Goodwill. All of a sudden, Rascal freaked out. Some history behind the newest member of our family. Rascal was a stray in Hollister, when CARE, a rescue organization, found him. At this time Rascal was estimated to be about 2 months old, the age of a puppy when you first get them. He went to another family, who had him for quite a while, around 5 months. Then, without explanation, this family moved to Ohio, surrendering Rascal. CARE once again had him and his crazy antics for about a month. Rascal's name was changed to Boots in his time with CARE, but he wouldn't answer to that name. He ...

South Park "Not Funny" Review

Good night, amateur trolls that trolled a troll and trolled themselves into a troll, brothers. With one episode to go in the season, South Park has remained consistently funny and on-point with their humor, though I worry about how their going to wrap all of this up. There are a good six to seven ongoing storylines right now, and only one episode to finish off a few of them. There was no clear focus this week, but I'll start where the episode ended, with Gerald's troll-based storyline. It's pretty satisfying to see the Troll Hunter's massive revelation; that he is, in fact, just another troll, bent on world destruction. Even Gerald couldn't find the humor in his master plan, as the Troll Hunter is truly in a league of his own. With the world on the brink of war, the trolling has truly begun, as the Troll Hunter went to work on his own employees and the other trolls, though why they had to be naked for that is beyond me. Kyle is always a sucker for saving the ...
