Money In The Bank 2016 Recap

In which if you missed the event, sorry, about your DAMN LUCK.

I said this would go up on Monday, sorry about that lie. This was a somewhat lackluster event, then the last half of the pay-per-view happened, and it totally wasn't. First off, congrats to the 2016 NBA Champions, the Cleveland Cavaliers. Expect a post on that subject tomorrow. Now, let's get to some rasslin'.

The opening tag match was fine, but I'm still left wanting by the performance of the tag champs. Don't get me wrong, they're better than the Usos, but I still don't really care for them, and they don't get me invested in the product. I'm going to lump Corbin-Ziggler, the tag match and Crews-Sheamus all in here, to save space. Here's some brief thoughts: Corbin is a good heel, but the program has gone on to long....Nattie's heel turn was good, with the division needing more top flight heels.....I may be in the minority, but I really like Sheamus. He's a solid worker and a good midcarder, but probably shouldn't go beyond that.

Let's start with Styles-Cena(by the way, shout out to those fools thinking Styles was going to be buried); it was a very solid match, likely MOTN, and both men work as well together as you would think. Cena was a little slower than I remember, so maybe he's starting to show his age. They gave them proper time, there was good psychology, and Styles won, so everything's fine. I expect their likely rematch at Battleground will be in a steel cage, just my thoughts. The MITB ladder match was as good as you could've hoped for, with all six men putting on a great show. Dean was an easy pick for the winner, and I could imagine, with the brand split incoming, that this pay-per-view may be cancelled next year. If so, the match will be moved back to Wrestlemania, and would likely be won by Kevin Owens. #JustSaying

Rusev proved tonight why he's the future top heel of the company. His match with Titus was fine, and his post-match "Happy Father's Day!" promo was fantastic. The guy's grown in leaps and bounds since his debut, and it's been fun to watch.

What to say about Reigns-Rollins match? First of all, it appeared we got a hint at the potential double turn, if not the actual turn itself. Roman lost almost completely clean, meaning that both he and Cena lost in the same night, so here's to you, internet. I'm one of Rollins' biggest fans, and him winning the belt was awesome; wish he didn't have to use the Pedigree, but oh well. I will admit I marked for Rollins holding the belt, until............Dean F'ing Ambrose arrived! I mean, I just, holy shit!

8/10

A great show held back by a underperforming midcard. If that doesn't tell you what company you're dealing with, I have no words for you. Styles and Rollins won, Dean won, Cena and Roman lost and each were great in defeat, and I'll repeat the fact that DEAN AMBROSE IS WWE CHAMPION.

American Dad "Twinanigans" Review

It's been a while since the last Steve and Roger episode, and this week reminded me why that's such a classic American Dad pairing. This is a genuinely fun episode, filled with some great one liners and even a great callback to the show's past. "Twinanigans" centers around the heretofore unmentioned acting careers of Roger and Steve, who twinned it up as the Smith Brothers. I'm not going to question whether this backstory actually makes sense to the overall timeline; no one watches American Dad for continuity. Steve had to give up acting to attend kindergarten, and wants to give Roger a second chance at greatness. The two head to auditions, where Steve impresses and Roger blows it. It's here the episode kinda misfires, as it's never made abundantly clear why Roger struggles so much at acting. Is he just trying too hard, does he have some form of stage fright, does he not even know what acting is? This part of the story is just never explained, w...

Henry's Pay-Per-View Reviews: ECW Heatwave 1998

As the world collectively loses it's mind over the coronavirus(this could be a fun intro to look back on in the future), the only sanity that can be found is in the ring. Let's take a look today at what is often considered ECW's finest outing, Heatwave '98. - Jokes aside, everyone should stay safe out there. I know it's easy to panic about these mass outbreaks, and I've certainly felt very nervous about everything I've heard and read over the past week. But I think we all need some fun in our lives right now, and this show is the epitome of distraction. - The opening contest is one of the highlights of the night, as Jerry Lynn takes on Justin Credible. Credible has an entire entourage in his corner, including Chastity, Jason and Nicole Bass, and their involvement in this match at times bordered on excessive. But the match begins to hit it's peak when Lynn puts Credible through a table with a hurricanrana, and it's all fantastic from...

Curious Crab

One Monday night my mom looked into my crabitat and found that a crab had climbed into one of my fake trees. It was in the top branch. I looked in later, and found that the crab had fallen out of the tree. I hope he is okay. What a day!
